Breakfast with Audrey Hepburn

What better way to see Audrey Hepburn than in a poster for Breakfast at Tiffany’s? The Belgian-born English actress had always been graceful; she actually considered a career in ballet but her tall frame and poor health prevented her from pursuing it. Her natural glamor must be due to her parentage – her mother was a former baroness – or maybe she was just born to be the classical, elegant beauty that she became recognized for. Though she appeared to be a natural as Holly Golightly in Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Miss Hepburn actually considered it a very difficult role. She thought of herself as an introvert, and extroverted Holly is right at the other end of the spectrum. Her celebrity did shine brighter after her role, which was considered by many as iconic. The self-proclaimed introvert sang “Moon River” in the movie, helping composer Henry Mancini win an Academy award for Best Song. Note also that the movie had been based on Truman Capote’s novella.

The celebrity poster features a lean and graceful Audrey Hepburn posed with a cat on her shoulder and donning a cigarette holder in her mouth. It also shows the title in red letters and Hepburn’s name in bold block letters; the over-all coloring scheme is pastel. This is to show the playfulness of both the main character and the movie itself.

The poster is available in one size – at 39 by 55 inches mounted on stretched canvas. This iconic poster is recommended to Audrey Hepburn fans, particularly those who fell in love with the celebrity when she played Holly Golightly. It has been designed and illustrated by Robert McGinnis, who also made the posters for Barbarella and some James Bond films. The celeb poster is also recommended to people who want to collect the best representations of American cinema in the 20th century. Breakfast with Tiffany’s, especially with Audrey Hepburn in it, really makes the list.
